Welcome to Lessons From the Psalms with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Psalm 94. Psalm 94 is an anonymous psalm (as are all the psalms from Psalm 91 through Psalm 100). This psalm is pretty much an analogy of our present day world. After reading the psalm I will break it down. Verses 1-7 remind us that there are evil people in our world today and, it may seem, that they are winning the spiritual battle that we are all engaged in. Verses 9 & 10 remind us that God does see all that is going on in our world, and that He will be the ultimate judge. By the end of this psalm there are three things I ask that you consider:
1. Blessed is the man whom You instruct, O Lord, And teach out of Your law. Here we are talking about Christians, and how we are to follow the commandments as they are written in the Bible.
2. For the Lord will not cast off His people, Nor will He forsake His inheritance. Friends, God know if we are Christians, and promises that He will never leave us nor forsake us.
3. But the Lord has been my defense, And my God the rock of my refuge.
What a comforting verse - Friends, put your trust in Jesus. He will lead us and guide us, and protect us from the evil one.
