Welcome to Lessons From the Psalms with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Psalm 60. Psalm 60 is ascribed to King David. This text which corresponds to this psalm is found in 2 Samuel - Chapter 8. The first three verses talk about the army of Israel being defeated, and the people of Israel are confused that the army has lost. Verses 4 & 5 talk about the fact that Israel still believes in the army and the fact they will ultimately be successful. Verses 6-8 is God letting King David know that He has this, and that he (and the army) will ultimately be OK. We close with the realization that if we put our trust in God (and Him alone) that we will eventually be victorious.
