Welcome to Lessons From the Psalms with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Psalm 56. Psalm 56 is attributed to King David -actually this is prior to his becoming the king of Israel. This psalm is almost identical to Psalm 34. In this psalm David has fled to the land of the Philistines to escape from King Saul. He went to see Achish (who is referred to in the psalm as Abimelech, his royal designation. In this psalm David prays to God that he will be delivered from the hand of Saul, and his pray is heard, and answered by the end of the psalm. This is a reminder that we should often be in prayer and let God know the desires of our heart (in prayer).
