Lessons From the Psalms - Psalm 54

Welcome to Lessons From the Psalms with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Psalm 54. This psalm is attributed to King David and is a prayer to God to deliver him from the hands of his enemies. In verse 1 David is asking God to save him. In verse 2, David pleads with God to hear his prayer (and obviously) to answer it. In verse 3 David is referring to the army of King Saul - who are seeking to find (and kill) David. In verse 4, David reminds us that, in our time of need, we, as he is doing, need to seek God in prayer.
In verse 5, David is making it clear that his enemies are after him and seeking his harm. In verse 6, David reminds us that we need to sacrifice and give praise to God (and His son, Jesus). In verse 7, we close with David's acknowledgment that God has, indeed, answered his prayer and delivered him from the hands of his enemies.
