Lessons From the Psalms - Psalm 49

Welcome to Lessons From the Psalms with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 49. Proverb 49 is a wisdom psalm, and thus is more like the Book of Proverb than an ordinary psalm. It is attributed to the sons of Korah and was originally designed to be sung (or chanted) in a worship service. The main gist of this psalm is that we shouldn't put our trust in our riches, but we should be more concerned with the condition of our soul. All of us will one day die - but there is a hereafter - whether you will go to Heaven and be with Jesus - if you have received Him as your Lord and Savior, or to the put (or hell) if you rejected Him while on earth. This psalm reminds us again that when we die we will not take any of our possessions with us. My suggestion - choose to receive Jesus today into your heart - we don't know when our time on Earth will come to an end. Put your trust in Him, so you will be ready whenever your number is called.
