Lessons From the Psalms - Psalm 14

Welcome to Lessons From the Psalms with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Psalm 14. Psalm was written by King David. This is a wisdom psalm. In verse 1, it talks about the fool that says "There is no God." Many people today live their entire life as though there is no God. This verse calls these people fools. In verses 2 & 3, God talks about how corrupt people have become and He is looking for people who will put their trust in Him. Friends, these two verses paint a portrait of exactly why Jesus had to come to Earth. Ever since Adam and Even sinned in the Garden of Eden man's nature has become evil. Our true nature is to sin. However, God had a plan. He sent His son Jesus to die on a cross so all of the sin nature inside of us would be put on Jesus. He is our Savior; He is our redeemer. Verse 6 tells us that he is our refuge. All that call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Put your trust in Him.
