Welcome to Lessons From the Psalms with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Psalm 133. Psalm 133 is a wisdom psalm and is the 4th of 4 psalms that are included in a collection of 15 consecutive psalm entitled A Song of Ascents. This is the 14th of these psalms. This collection of psalms was originally created for the pilgrims (Jewish people) who would take the annual pilgrimage to the city of Jerusalem. They would sing these songs as they walked, or when they retired for the night on their journey. By the end of this psalm there are three things I ask that you consider:
1. How good and pleasant it is when brothers dwell in unity. (God delights when we all get along with one another. We should get along with all people - even those in different denominations, races, backgrounds, etc.)
2. It is like the precious oil that is sometimes placed on believers. (when Christians pray for those who may be sick, or would like prayer they sometimes have anointing oil placed on them).
3. The Lord has commanded the blessing, life forevermore. (the Bible promises that everyone who trusts in the Lord will be blesses)!
