Welcome to Lessons From the Psalms with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Psalm 132. Psalm 132 is an anonymous psalm. It is also the 13th of 15 consecutive psalms entitled a Song os Ascents. Of these 15 psalms Psalm 132 is the longest. It is commonly referred to as a messianic psalm and is a poetic display of the covenant that God had made with His servant, King David. After reading the psalm in its' entirety there are three things I ask that you consider from this psalm:
1. God promised David a royal house (which was fulfilled upon the coming of Jesus Christ to earth.
2. David had a desire to build a temple for the Lord (but God would not allow David to build the temple. He did, however, allow his son, Solomon, to build the temple.
3. Jesus' s kingdom will be established forever (this is a prophecy of the 2nd coming of Jesus. At that time Jesus will rule and reign forever).
