Lessons From the Psalms - Psalm 130

Welcome to Lessons From the Psalms with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Psalm 130. Psalm 130 is the 11th of 15 consecutive psalms that are collectively called the Songs of Ascent. Psalm 130 is also an anonymous psalm (as we do not know the author of this psalm). This collection of 15 consecutive psalms were originally created for the pilgrims which took the annual trip to Jerusalem to give praise to God. This people often stayed together at night and would sing these songs of praise to God. By the end of today's lesson there are three things I ask that you consider:
1. Bet there is forgiveness with You, That you may be feared (because of the fact that we have been forgiven of all of sins by what Jesus did for us on the cross at Cavalry, we should fear "or be in awe" of God for His goodness towards us.
2. I wait for the Lord, my should waits, And in His word, I do hope (friends, it is vital that we read the Bible on a regular basis - if we are to live and enjoy the type of life that God would like for us to live. Romans 10:17 tells us that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.
3. For with the Lord there is mercy And with Him is abundant redemption (we have been redeemed from the curse of the law (Galatians 3:13) - thank you, Jesus)!
