Lessons From the Psalms - Psalm 125

Welcome to Lessons From the Psalms with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Psalm 125. Psalms 125 is the 6th of 15 consecutive psalms which are collectively called the Songs of Ascent. Psalm 125 is an anonymous psalm. These psalms were originally written to/for the Israelite pilgrims which would take the annual pilgrimage to the city of Jerusalem. Many of these psalms would be sung by these people as they made the journey. The three takeaways I have for psalm 125 are these:
1. This who trust in the Lord Are like Mount Zion. Which cannot be moved, but abides forever (in other words, we are to put our trust in the living God)
2. God protects His people from participation in evil. (God cares about each of us and wants our lives to be productive. If we are living for God, He will provide for us and protect us from all evil).
3. Do good, O Lord to those who are good (we should pray for those in our lives that are important).
