Lessons From the Psalms - Psalm 110

Welcome to Lessons From the Psalms with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Psalm 110. Psalm is a royal psalm, and was written by King David. In this psalm Jesus acknowledges that King David is the author. Verse 1 tells us that David is praying to God. In this psalm God is actually instructing His son Jesus to come up to His throne and sit at His right hand. After reading this psalm I will break it down. By the end of the lesson there are three things I ask that you consider:
1l. Sit at My right hand, Till I make Your enemies Your footstool. (God is telling Jesus that He is to make all of His enemies His footstool).
2. You are a priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek. (God is telling Jesus that He will now be the High Priest and rule and reign over the entire world.
3. As the great Victor, the Son will hold His head high over all His enemies. (in the final battle God & Jesus will fight together to subdue all of the enemies that come against them - in the end Jesus will be victorious over all).
