Lessons From the Psalms - Psalm 11

Welcome to Lessons From the Psalms with Bill Kelley. Today we will take a look at Psalm 11. Psalm 11 is a psalm of trust - right in the middle of three psalms of lament (Psalms 9 & 10 - which were originally one longer psalm) and Psalm 12). This psalms is broken into three sections - verses 1-3 - an affirmation of trust in the Lord even during the assaults of the wicked; verses 4-6 - an affirmation of trust in the Lord who reigns above and who will judge thee actions of the wicked ; and verse 7 - an affirmation of trust in the Lord because of who He is (compliments of commentary of the Nelson Study Bible). I will then go over verse 1-3 and go over the fact that many people today are attacking Christians and what we stand for. They are aiming their arrows at us and trying to take us out. Verses 4-6 tells us that, when all is said and done, that God is watching those coming against us and will ultimately judge them. Verse 7 culminates with the fact that God is righteous, and He loves those who are righteous (us) - and that He will eventually protect us from an evil that befalls us.
