Lessons From the Psalms - Psalm 105

Welcome to Lessons From the Psalms with Bill Kelley. On today's podcast we will be going over Psalm 105. Psalm 105 is an anonymous psalm and is rather lengthy. After reading the psalm in its entirety I will review the history of this psalm - beginning with the covenant God made with Abraham - the Father of our faith (and then with his son Isaac). We will go over the story of Joseph (which entails the final 14 chapters of the Book of Genesis). We will discuss how, once Joseph became 2nd in command of the land of Egypt that Joseph's father, Jacob. (whom God later changed his name to Israel) was allowed to come into the land of Egypt. God blessed His people there, and they became more numerous than the Egyptians - which led to 430 years of slavery). God heard the cry of His people and sent Moses (and his brother Aaron) to bring the Israelites out of Egypt (after God pronounced judgment on the land of Egypt through a series of 10 plagues). He later freed His people and they roamed in the wilderness for 40 years - providing for them with manna (and water from the rocks).
