Lessons From the Psalms - Psalm 102

Welcome to Lessons From the Psalms. This is Bill Kelley, and I'll be your host. Today we will be going over Psalm 102. Psalm 102 is rather lengthy, so I will ask listeners to get comfortable and find a place where they can sit, close their eyes, and meditate on this psalm while I read it. Psalm 102 is an anonymous psalm and is written by someone who appears to be in distress. Friends, we've all have days like this. Everyone listening to this psalm today can relate to what this author is going through. By the end of this psalm there are three things I ask that you consider"
1. Hear my prayer, O Lord, And let my cry come to You. (Friends, when we feel like this our first response should be to go to God in prayer).
2. But You, O Lord, shall endure forever. And the remembrance of Your name to all generations. (Friends, when you reach out to God, you should first give Him praise. Then you should ask Him what it is you would like for Him to do for you).
3. Of old You laid the foundations of the earth, And the heavens are the work of Your hands. (Friends, we should always be mindful that God is the creator of the universe - and everything that our eyes can see. we need to remember that He is God, and that we are not. He is waiting (and inviting) you to call on His name when you are hurting)
