948. Romans, Chapter 4 (#3) Abraham grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God - Jan 22, 2026

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over proverb 22. I will then key in on verse 7 - The rich rules over the poor, and the borrower is the slave of the lender. Friends, this verse talks about the reality that if you borrow from the bank, that you are (literally) a slave to the bank. People borrow for their houses, for their cars, for their entertainment, and for several other reasons. I caution you to not get in over your heads (in debt). It might be very difficult to get out of it. On today's podcast I will continue our study of the Book of Romans. Today we will be completing the 4th chapter. By the end of today's lesson there are three things I ask that you consider:
1. He did not weaken in faith when he considered his own body
2. Abraham grew strong in his faith as he gave glory to God.
3. God accepted Christ's suffering and death as full payment for sin.
Scripture referenced on today's podcast:
Proverb 22:7; Romans 4:18-25; Genesis 15:5; Hebrew 11:2; Genesis 17:17; Genesis 18:11; Genesis 18:14
Call to action - Ask yourself this simple question - Are you believing the promises found in the Bible (that you can grab hold of - and claim for your own)?
