614. Gospel of Luke - Chapter 12 (#3) - Take Heed and Beware of Covetousness - August 8, 2024

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 8. I will then key in on verses 12 & 13 - "I, wisdom, dwell with prudence, And find out knowledge and discretion. The fear of the the Lord is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way And the perverse mouth I hate." Friends, God doesn't want us to be covetous (or envious, or selfish). On today's podcast we will continue our study of the Gospel, according to Luke. We will pick up where we left off yesterday, beginning in the 12th chapter, verse 13. By the end of today's lesson there are three things I ask that you consider:
1. Take heed and beware of covetousness.
2. I will pull down my barns and build greater.
3. This night your soul will be required of you.
Call to Action - Ask yourself this question: Am I prideful? Am I covetous? Am I arrogant? These are not things many of us want to admit that we are. May I suggest that if these are an issue with you (or have been in the past) that you pray a simple prayer: "Father God, help me with this sin I have of pride, arrogance, and selfishness. I pray that you remove these from my nature from this moment on in my life." Its this in Jesus' name. Amen!
