Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 17. I will then key in on verse 5 - He who mocks the poor reproaches his Maker, He who is glad at calamity will not go unpunished. Friends, God is not a respecter of persons - so we should not mock people who are less fortunate than us. We also should never be glad when any individual has calamity happen in their lives. We are NOT the judge! On today's podcast, we will continue our study on the Gospel according to Luke. Today we will begin Chapter 4. By the end of this lesson there are three things I ask that you consider:
1. Jesus is drawn into the wilderness by the Holy Spirit (not satan) - I believe the Holy Spirit was preparing Jesus for His public ministry.
2. Satan challenges the identity of Jesus (as do many people in our world today)
3. Jesus responds to the temptation of satan by quoting scripture - this is something that we can do as well in our lives today
Call to Action - When satan comes at you and begins to lure you into temptations by telling you lies, how do you respond? Do you respond like Jesus did, and begin quoting scripture? Or - do you listen to what he tells you and fall into temptation?
