1. Job prayed for his children - many of us have adult children which no longer live in the house with us. We are to intercede for them (and their children) in prayer. Job understood the importance of doing this and did it on a regular basis
2. satan will tempt us: 1 Peter 5: verse 8 tells us that satan goes about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. James, Chapter 4: verses 6 & 7 tell us that God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. He also tells us that we are to submit ourselves to God; to resist the devil, and that he will flee from us. satan has no power over born again Christians who are submitted to God
3. Things in life will happen - friends, the 1st chapter of Job is a horrific story - Job loses all of his material possessions and every one of his ten children on the same day! Things will go wrong in our lives as well. How we react to the things that happen in our lives will determine whether we have a successful and satisfying life.
