343. Matthew's Gospel - Chapter 27. July 26, 2023

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 26. I will then key in on verses 13-15. These three verses talk about the extent that a fool will go to to not work (or do what he should be doing). Verse 13 says that there is a lion in the streets, and because of that he can't go outside. Verse 14 says that a lazy person would rather turn over and over on his bed that get up and face a new day (go to work). Verse 15 says that a lazy person is so lazy he won't even bring his hands to his mouth to put food in it! Lesson to be learned - don't be lazy! On today's podcast we will pick up our story in Chapter 27 of Matthew's Gospel. This is where Pilate offers the mob the choice of which prisoner he should release to them - Barabbas - a life-long criminal who was an insurrectionist and a murderer, or Jesus). Pilate did not think they would ever ask for him to be released. He knew that Jesus was an innocent man and felt they would ask for the release of Jesus (but they were wrong). The chief priests convinced the people that Barabbas should be released.
