304. Matthew's Gospel - Chapter #8

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 1. I will then key in on verse 10 - My son, if sinners entice you, Do not consent. Friends, prior to becoming saved, I might have been enticed by sinners. I used to do a lot of things that I wouldn't even think about doing today. Not only do I know better, but I'm not even enticed by sinners and doing things that are evil and would not please God to do. Today we will be looking at Chapter 8 of Matthew's gospel . The first verse tells us that a great multitude followed Jesus down from the mountain after He had completed the Sermon on the Mount. Verses 2 & 3 tell us that a leper went to Jesus and asked to be healed. Jesus immediately healed him. In verses 5-10 a Roman centurion goes to Jesus and asks that He heal his servant, who is at home and unable to come to Him. Jesus tells him that He will come with him and heal his servant. The centurion tells Jesus to only say the word, and that his servant will be healed. Jesus marvels at this man's faith. we talk about the cost of discipleship and then close with Jesus rebuking His disciples for not having faith during a huge storm! Call to action - Ask yourself what you would have done had you been on that boat with Jesus sleeping. Suggested scripture reading: 1. Reread Proverb 1 in its entirety; 2. reread the 8th chapter of Matthew's gospel
