Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 9. I will then key in on verse 6 - Forsake foolishness and live, And go in the way of understanding. Friends, when I read this verse it reminds me of the great love chapter. In the 13th chapter of 1 Corinthians, verse 11 it says: When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. Friends, I invite you to grow up - put aside childish or foolish things and begin to walk with some form of wisdom. Today I am going to continue on my study of humility. Today I will introduce you to King Solomon. He is the son of King David (together these are the greatest two kinds in the history of Israel). As a backdrop King Solomon has just been coronated king of Israel and God came to Solomon in a dream. We are in 1 Kings, Chapter 3. I will read verses 4-9. Solomon asks God to give him wisdom.
