Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 24. I will then go over verse 16 - For a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again. Friends, things are going to happen to each of us from time to time. This verse encourages those of us who are righteous (and living life as we should) to get up - when we fall. We must learn not to get discouraged when things happen, but to rise up and keep marching towards the goal that God has placed on each of our lives. Today, I will continue the theme that I am currently on (humility)). We will look at King David - the king of Israel who, at one time, was a ruddy young man who slew the giant Goliath. He went on to become king and, unfortunately, became a bit too comfortable. Because of this, he ended up being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Thus, he humbled himself and wrote the 51st Psalm.
