1. God needed to get Moses' attention. God has seen the oppression of the Israelite people and wanted them to be delivered from the hand of Pharaoh. He got Moses' attention by speaking through a fire in a bush (that would not be consumed by the fire).
2. God called Moses to be Israel's leader and the one chosen to deliver the Israelites and to bring them out of the land of Egypt. God instructed Moses to first go to the Israelites and introduce himself and then to go into the palace of Pharaoh and introduce himself to him.
3. God will favor His people Israel. From the foundation of the world God knew that the Israelites would be His chosen people. Once we surrender our lives to Jesus, and invite Him into our hearts we are now grafted into the family of God and we are now included in His chosen people.
