1. The mother of Moses keeps Moses hidden for three months ( I will read the first ten verses of Chapter 2). A daughter of Pharaoh hears the cry of the child and picks him up from an ark prepared by the mother of Moses to protect him from the currents of the Nile. She arranges to have the mother of Moses breast feed him (probably until he is weaned and arranges for her to receive wages for doing so!
2. Moses kills an Egyptian (we will read verses 11-15). After this, Moses flees from Pharaoh and goes to the land of Midian - (where he will be for the next 40 years).
3. Moses meets the priest of Midian and finds his wife. After the daughters of the priest of Midian are bothered by the shepherds near their home, Moses comes to their rescue and feeds the flocks. He is invited to meet the priest of Midian - who gives Moses one of his daughters and they have a son together.
