Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 30. I will then key in on verse 5: Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him. Friends, this should be an encouragement to all of you to have a desire to read the Bible. The fact that every word is pure is so comforting to me. The second part of that verse tells that God is our shield. Today we are beginning our study of the Book of Exodus. There are three takeaways that I would like to have you consider from the 1st Chapter of Exodus.
1. The new King (Pharaoh) did not know Joseph. Quite a bit of time has elapsed between the last chapter of Genesis (Chapter 50) and the first chapter of Exodus.
2. The two Hebrew midwives mentioned in Chapter 1 (Shiphrah & Push) pleased God. God took care of these two women because they did not heed the directive of Pharaoh to kill all of the boys that were born.
3. Pharaoh orders all of the male children to be thrown into the Nile River (and thus killed).
