107. Jesus Goes to Zacchaeus' House

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 29. I will then key in on verse 7 - The righteous considers the cause of the poor, But the wicked does not understand such knowledge. Jesus cared about the poor of His day. May I suggest that He didn't just care about the poor financially, but He also cared about the poor spiritually, the poor physically, etc. The bottom line - He cared about everyone, period. I have mentioned Matthew, the author of the gospel of Matthew on a number of occasions, and that, prior to being asked by Jesus to "follow Him" he was intrigued by Jesus, as were most people when he roamed the Earth. Matthew was hated by most people for being a despised tax collector. He was very rich and tended to exploit his position of being a tax collector, named Zacchaeus. I will be reading Luke Chapter 19: verses 1-10. In these verses it says that Zacchaeus was rich - as were most tax collectors at that time.
