[00:00:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to the reading of the King James Bible.

[00:00:03] [SPEAKER_00]: Hello, my name is Bill Kelley and I will be your host.

[00:00:07] [SPEAKER_00]: This is a reading from the Book of the Prophet Jeremiah.

[00:00:11] [SPEAKER_00]: This is Chapter 31.

[00:00:14] [SPEAKER_00]: At the same time, sayeth the Lord,

[00:00:17] [SPEAKER_00]: Will I be the God of all the families of Israel?

[00:00:21] [SPEAKER_00]: And they shall be my people.

[00:00:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Thus, sayeth the Lord,

[00:00:26] [SPEAKER_00]: The people which were left of the sword found grace in the wilderness.

[00:00:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Even Israel, when I went to cause him to rest.

[00:00:38] [SPEAKER_00]: The Lord half appeared of old unto me saying,

[00:00:43] [SPEAKER_00]: ye, I have loved thee with an everlasting love.

[00:00:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Therefore, with loving kindness, have I drawn thee.

[00:00:51] [SPEAKER_00]: Again, I will build thee and thou shalt be built overgen of Israel.

[00:01:00] [SPEAKER_00]: Thou shalt again be adorned with thy tablets,

[00:01:05] [SPEAKER_00]: And shalt go forth in the dances of them that make Mary.

[00:01:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Thou shalt yet plant vines upon the mountains of Samaria.

[00:01:16] [SPEAKER_00]: The planters shall plant, and shall eat them as common things.

[00:01:22] [SPEAKER_00]: For their shall be a day that the watchmen upon the Mount F.I.E. shall cry.

[00:01:29] [SPEAKER_00]: A rise ye and let us go up to Zion unto the Lord our God.

[00:01:35] [SPEAKER_00]: For thus, sayeth the Lord, sing with gladness for Jacob,

[00:01:41] [SPEAKER_00]: And shout among the chief of the nations.

[00:01:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Publish ye, praise ye and say,

[00:01:49] [SPEAKER_00]: All Lord save thy people the remnant of Israel.

[00:01:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Behold, I will bring them from the North country

[00:01:59] [SPEAKER_00]: And gather them from the coasts of the earth.

[00:02:03] [SPEAKER_00]: And with them the blind and the lame,

[00:02:06] [SPEAKER_00]: The woman with child and her that traveileth with child together,

[00:02:13] [SPEAKER_00]: A great company shall return, Sither.

[00:02:17] [SPEAKER_00]: They shall come with weeping, and with supplications will I lead them.

[00:02:23] [SPEAKER_00]: I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters in a straight way,

[00:02:29] [SPEAKER_00]: Wherein they shall not stumble,

[00:02:32] [SPEAKER_00]: For I am a father to Israel,

[00:02:36] [SPEAKER_00]: And Ephraim is my first born.

[00:02:39] [SPEAKER_00]: Here the word of the Lord O ye nations,

[00:02:43] [SPEAKER_00]: And declare it in the Isles of our Off and say,

[00:02:48] [SPEAKER_00]: He that scattered Israel will gather him,

[00:02:52] [SPEAKER_00]: And keep him as a shepherd,

[00:02:55] [SPEAKER_00]: Doth his flock.

[00:02:57] [SPEAKER_00]: For the Lord half redeemed Jacob

[00:03:00] [SPEAKER_00]: And ransomed him from the hand of him

[00:03:04] [SPEAKER_00]: That was stronger than he.

[00:03:08] [SPEAKER_00]: Therefore they shall come and sing in the height of Zion,

[00:03:13] [SPEAKER_00]: And shall flow together to the goodness of the Lord,

[00:03:17] [SPEAKER_00]: For wheat and for wine and for oil,

[00:03:21] [SPEAKER_00]: And for the young of the flock,

[00:03:23] [SPEAKER_00]: And of the herd, and their soul shall be as a watered garden,

[00:03:30] [SPEAKER_00]: And they shall not sorrow any more at all.

[00:03:35] [SPEAKER_00]: Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance,

[00:03:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Both young men and old together,

[00:03:42] [SPEAKER_00]: For I will turn their morning into joy,

[00:03:46] [SPEAKER_00]: And will comfort them,

[00:03:49] [SPEAKER_00]: And make them rejoice from their sorrow.

[00:03:53] [SPEAKER_00]: And I will say she ate the soul of the priests with fatness,

[00:03:58] [SPEAKER_00]: And my people shall be satisfied with my goodness,

[00:04:03] [SPEAKER_00]: Sayeth the Lord.

[00:04:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Thus sayeth the Lord, a voice was heard in Rama,

[00:04:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Lamentation and bitter weeping.

[00:04:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Rachel weeping for her children refused to be comforted

[00:04:18] [SPEAKER_00]: For her children because they were not.

[00:04:21] [SPEAKER_00]: Thus sayeth the Lord, refrain thy voice from weeping

[00:04:27] [SPEAKER_00]: And thy eyes from tears,

[00:04:30] [SPEAKER_00]: For thy work shall be rewarded.

[00:04:34] [SPEAKER_00]: Sayeth the Lord and they shall come again

[00:04:37] [SPEAKER_00]: From the land of the enemy.

[00:04:40] [SPEAKER_00]: And there is hope in thine end sayeth the Lord

[00:04:44] [SPEAKER_00]: That thy children shall come again to their own border.

[00:04:51] [SPEAKER_00]: I have surely heard,

[00:04:53] [SPEAKER_00]: Ephraim be moaning himself thus.

[00:04:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Thou hast chastened me,

[00:05:00] [SPEAKER_00]: And I was chastised as a bullock unaccustomed to the oak.

[00:05:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Turn thou me, and I shall be turned

[00:05:10] [SPEAKER_00]: For thou art the Lord my God.

[00:05:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Surely after that I was turned,

[00:05:17] [SPEAKER_00]: I repented.

[00:05:17] [SPEAKER_00]: And after that I was instructed.

[00:05:21] [SPEAKER_00]: I smoked upon my thigh, I was ashamed,

[00:05:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Yay even confounded because I did bear the reproach of my youth.

[00:05:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Is Ephraim my dear son?

[00:05:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Is he a pleasant child?

[00:05:38] [SPEAKER_00]: For since I spake against him,

[00:05:41] [SPEAKER_00]: I do earnestly remember him still.

[00:05:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Therefore my bowels are troubled for him.

[00:05:49] [SPEAKER_00]: I will surely have mercy upon him,

[00:05:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Sayeth the Lord.

[00:05:54] [SPEAKER_00]: Set thee up, way marks,

[00:05:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Make thee high heaps,

[00:05:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Set thine heart toward the highway,

[00:06:03] [SPEAKER_00]: Even the way which thou wentest.

[00:06:06] [SPEAKER_00]: Turn again overgen of Israel.

[00:06:10] [SPEAKER_00]: Turn again to these thy cities.

[00:06:14] [SPEAKER_00]: How long wilt thou go about?

[00:06:18] [SPEAKER_00]: O thou backsliding daughter,

[00:06:20] [SPEAKER_00]: For the Lord half created a new thing in the earth.

[00:06:25] [SPEAKER_00]: A woman shall compass a man.

[00:06:29] [SPEAKER_00]: Thus saith the Lord of hosts,

[00:06:31] [SPEAKER_00]: The God of Israel.

[00:06:33] [SPEAKER_00]: As yet they shall use this speech in the land of Judah,

[00:06:38] [SPEAKER_00]: And in the cities they are of.

[00:06:40] [SPEAKER_00]: When I shall bring again their captivity,

[00:06:45] [SPEAKER_00]: The Lord bless thee, O habitation of justice,

[00:06:50] [SPEAKER_00]: And mountain of holiness,

[00:06:52] [SPEAKER_00]: And their shall dwell in Judah itself,

[00:06:55] [SPEAKER_00]: And in all the cities they are of,

[00:06:59] [SPEAKER_00]: Together, husband men,

[00:07:01] [SPEAKER_00]: And they that go forth with flocks.

[00:07:04] [SPEAKER_00]: For I have satiated the weary soul,

[00:07:07] [SPEAKER_00]: And I have replenished every sorrowful soul.

[00:07:12] [SPEAKER_00]: Upon this I awake and be held,

[00:07:16] [SPEAKER_00]: And my sleep was sweet unto me.

[00:07:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Behold the days come saith the Lord

[00:07:24] [SPEAKER_00]: That I will sow the house of Israel,

[00:07:28] [SPEAKER_00]: And the house of Judah,

[00:07:30] [SPEAKER_00]: With the seed of man,

[00:07:33] [SPEAKER_00]: And with the seed of beast,

[00:07:35] [SPEAKER_00]: And it shall come to pass that like,

[00:07:38] [SPEAKER_00]: As I have watched over them,

[00:07:41] [SPEAKER_00]: To pluck up and to break down,

[00:07:44] [SPEAKER_00]: And to throw down,

[00:07:47] [SPEAKER_00]: And to destroy,

[00:07:48] [SPEAKER_00]: And to afflict.

[00:07:51] [SPEAKER_00]: So will I watch over them,

[00:07:53] [SPEAKER_00]: To build and plant, saith the Lord.

[00:07:58] [SPEAKER_00]: In those days they shall say no more,

[00:08:01] [SPEAKER_00]: The fathers have eaten a sour grape,

[00:08:04] [SPEAKER_00]: And the children's teeth are set on edge.

[00:08:08] [SPEAKER_00]: But every one shall die for his own iniquity,

[00:08:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Every man that eateth the sour grape,

[00:08:16] [SPEAKER_00]: His teeth shall be set on edge.

[00:08:20] [SPEAKER_00]: Behold the days come saith the Lord,

[00:08:24] [SPEAKER_00]: That I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel,

[00:08:29] [SPEAKER_00]: And with the house of Judah,

[00:08:32] [SPEAKER_00]: Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers,

[00:08:37] [SPEAKER_00]: In the day that I took them by the hand,

[00:08:41] [SPEAKER_00]: To bring them out of the land of Egypt,

[00:08:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Which my covenant they break.

[00:08:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Although I was and husband unto them saith the Lord.

[00:08:53] [SPEAKER_00]: But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel.

[00:08:59] [SPEAKER_00]: After those days saith the Lord,

[00:09:03] [SPEAKER_00]: I will put my law in their inward parts,

[00:09:07] [SPEAKER_00]: And write it in their hearts.

[00:09:10] [SPEAKER_00]: And will be their God,

[00:09:12] [SPEAKER_00]: And they shall be my people.

[00:09:15] [SPEAKER_00]: And they shall teach no more every man, His neighbor,

[00:09:20] [SPEAKER_00]: And every man, His brother, saying,

[00:09:24] [SPEAKER_00]: Know the Lord.

[00:09:25] [SPEAKER_00]: For they shall all know me,

[00:09:28] [SPEAKER_00]: From the least of them unto the greatest of them,

[00:09:32] [SPEAKER_00]: saith the Lord.

[00:09:34] [SPEAKER_00]: For I will forgive their iniquity,

[00:09:38] [SPEAKER_00]: And I will remember their sin, no more.

[00:09:42] [SPEAKER_00]: Thus saith the Lord,

[00:09:45] [SPEAKER_00]: Which giveeth the Son for a light by day,

[00:09:49] [SPEAKER_00]: And the ordinances of the moon,

[00:09:51] [SPEAKER_00]: And of the stars for a light by night,

[00:09:54] [SPEAKER_00]: Which divideeth the sea when the waves thereof roar.

[00:10:00] [SPEAKER_00]: The Lord of hosts is His name.

[00:10:03] [SPEAKER_00]: If those ordinances depart from before me,

[00:10:08] [SPEAKER_00]: saith the Lord,

[00:10:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Then the seed of Israel also shall cease

[00:10:13] [SPEAKER_00]: From being a nation before me forever.

[00:10:18] [SPEAKER_00]: Thus saith the Lord,

[00:10:20] [SPEAKER_00]: If heaven above can be measured,

[00:10:24] [SPEAKER_00]: And the foundations of the earth

[00:10:26] [SPEAKER_00]: Searched out beneath,

[00:10:28] [SPEAKER_00]: I will also cast off all the seed of Israel

[00:10:32] [SPEAKER_00]: For all that they have done, saith the Lord.

[00:10:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Behold, the days come, saith the Lord,

[00:10:41] [SPEAKER_00]: That the city shall be built to the Lord,

[00:10:44] [SPEAKER_00]: From the tower of Hananeal,

[00:10:46] [SPEAKER_00]: Under the gate of the corner.

[00:10:49] [SPEAKER_00]: And the measuring line shall yet go forth

[00:10:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Over against it upon the hill,

[00:10:56] [SPEAKER_00]: Garab, and shall compass about to goeth.

[00:11:01] [SPEAKER_00]: And the whole valley of the dead bodies,

[00:11:04] [SPEAKER_00]: And of the ashes,

[00:11:06] [SPEAKER_00]: And all the fields under the brook of Kidron,

[00:11:11] [SPEAKER_00]: Under the corner of the horse gate,

[00:11:13] [SPEAKER_00]: Towards the east,

[00:11:15] [SPEAKER_00]: Shall be holy unto the Lord.

[00:11:18] [SPEAKER_00]: It shall not be plucked up,

[00:11:21] [SPEAKER_00]: Nor thrown down any more forever.
