[00:00:00] Welcome to the reading of the King James Bible.

[00:00:03] Hello, my name is Bill Kelley and I will be your host.

[00:00:08] This is a reading from the book of Ecclesiastes.

[00:00:12] This is chapter one.

[00:00:15] The words of the preacher, the son of David, King in Jerusalem.

[00:00:22] The Vainities, sayeth the preacher, vanity of vanities, all is vanity.

[00:00:31] What prophet half a man of all his labor which he takeeth under the sun?

[00:00:38] One generation passes away and another generation comeseth but the earth abides forever.

[00:00:48] The sun also arises and the sun goeth down and hasteth to his place where he arose.

[00:00:58] The wind goeth toward the south and turneth about unto the north.

[00:01:05] It morelith about continually and the wind returneth again according to his circuits.

[00:01:14] All the rivers run into the sea.

[00:01:18] Yet the sea is not full unto the place from whence the rivers come, thrither they return again.

[00:01:29] All things are full of labor.

[00:01:32] Man cannot utter it.

[00:01:35] The eye is not satisfied with seeing nor the ear filled with hearing.

[00:01:43] The thing that half been it is that which shall be and that which is done is that

[00:01:50] which shall be done and there is no new thing under the sun.

[00:01:57] Is there anything whereeth it may be said, see this is new?

[00:02:04] It hath been already of all time which was before us.

[00:02:11] There is no remembrance of former things.

[00:02:15] Neither shall there be any remembrance of things that are to come with those that shall come after.

[00:02:23] Eye the preacher was king over Israel in Jerusalem and I gave my heart to seek and search out by wisdom concerning all things that are done under heaven.

[00:02:40] His sore, trivial hath God given to the sons of man to be exercised therewith.

[00:02:49] I have seen all the works that are done under the sun and behold all His vanity and

[00:02:58] the excitation of spirit.

[00:03:01] That which is crooked cannot be made straight and that which is wanting cannot be numbered.

[00:03:09] Eye commumed with mine own heart saying,

[00:03:14] low eye am come to great a state and have gotten more wisdom than all they that have been before me in Jerusalem.

[00:03:27] Yay my heart had great experience of wisdom and knowledge and I gave my heart to no wisdom

[00:03:37] and to no madness and folly.

[00:03:40] I perceived that this also is the excitation of spirit for in much wisdom is much grief

[00:03:51] and he that increaseeth knowledge, increaseeth sorrow.
