996. Scripture Verses of Mercy - April 20, 2026

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 20. I will then key in on verse 4 - The sluggard does not plow in the autumn; he will seek at harvest and have nothing. Friends, this verse cautions about the sluggard - or lazy person. If you are lazy, and don't plant seeds (through hard work) you will not receive your harvest. Galatians 6:7 tells us that we will reap what we sow. If you sow laziness, then you will not reap a harvest of good things in your life. On today's podcast we will go over five scripture verses on the concept of mercy. By the end of today's podcast there are three things I ask that you consider:

1. Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy - this verse is a perfect example of the spiritual law that you will reap what you sow).

2. Be merciful even as your Father is merciful - friends, whether you show mercy because you will receive mercy (reaping what you sow) or because God and Jesus showed mercy ( and you want to emulate them) either way you will be blessed in the end.

3. I desire mercy, not sacrifice.

Scripture verses referenced on today's podcast:

Proverb 20:4; Matthew 5:7; Galatians 6:7; Luke 6:36; Hebrews 4:16; Matthew 9:13; Ephesians 2:4-5

Call to Action - How willing are you to demonstrate the love of God (either in word and deed (or sharing the gospel message) with others that you either come into contact with - or know they need to hear the message?
