828. Luke, Chapter 14 (#3) - Becoming a Disciple of Jesus means we must put Him above Anyone (or anything) else in our life - July 2, 2025

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 2. I will then key in on verses 10-12 - When wisdom enters your heart, And knowledge is pleasant to your soul, Discretion will preserve you; Understanding will keep you, To deliver you from the way of evil, From the man who speaks perverse things. Friends if you read scripture on a regular basis the Holy Spirit will allow you to say no to things that concern evil. I will begin today's lesson by reviewing the three points I brought up on the previous lesson (Episode 824 - Luke, Chapter 14 (#2) on the Episode of June 19th. If you did not get a chance to tune into that podcast I invite you to do so). I will then continue our study of the Gospel according to Luke. Today we will be going over Chapter 14, verses 25-30. By the end of today's lesson there are three things I ask that you consider:

1. Becoming a disciple of Jesus means we must put Him abouve anything else (or anyone) else in our lives.

2. A disciple will be rejected by those in the world who do not honor Christ.

3. Following Christ is not something to be taken up on a trial basis. It calls for ultimate commitment

Scriptures referenced on today's podcast:

Proverb 2:10-12; Luke, 14:25-30; Deuteronomy 13:6-9; Luke 9:23; Proverb 24:27
