Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. On today's podcast we will be going over Proverb 6. I will then key in on verses 26b-29. These verses speak of someone who has adultery with another man's wife. Prior to that happening there was some covetousness going on. These verses explain what will happen if you allow yourself to go through covetous thoughts. On today's lesson we will complete our study of the 10 commandments. Today we will be covering the 10th commandment. By the end of today's lesson there are three things I ask that you consider:
1. You shall not covet.
2. If you will give me a son, I will give him to the Lord.
3. The child ministered to the Lord before Eli the priest.
Scriptures referenced on today's lesson:
Exodus, Chapter 2:verse 2-17; 1 Samuel Chapter 1 (the entire chapter); Chapter 2: verses 1-11
[00:00:06] Welcome to Wisdom Today. My name is Bill Kelley and I'll be your host. In this podcast we will be exploring the book of Proverbs.
[00:00:21] Let's open in prayer. Father God, I thank you for anyone listening to this podcast today. Lord, I pray that you would reveal to everyone listening how much you truly love each and every one of them. I ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.
[00:00:37] This is Proverbs 6 beginning in verse 1.
[00:00:41] My son, if you become surety for your friend, if you have shaken hands in pledge for a stranger, you are snared by the words of your mouth. You were taken by the words of your mouth.
[00:00:56] So do this, my son, and deliver yourself, for you have come into the hand of your friend.
[00:01:03] Go and humble yourself. Plead with your friend. Give no sleep to your eyes, nor slumber to your eyelids.
[00:01:13] Deliver yourself like a gazelle from the hand of the hunter, and like a bird from the hand of the fowler.
[00:01:22] Go to the ant, you sluggard. Consider her ways and be wise, which, having no captain, overseer, or ruler, provides her supplies in the summer, and gathers her food in the harvest.
[00:01:38] How long will you slumber, O sluggard? When will you rise from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep.
[00:01:51] So shall your poverty come on you like a prowler, and your need like an armed man.
[00:01:59] A worthless person, a wicked man, walks with a perverse mouth. He winks with his eyes. He shuffles his feet. He points with his fingers.
[00:02:12] Perversity is in his heart. He devises evil continually. He sows discord. Therefore, his calamity shall come suddenly.
[00:02:23] Suddenly, he shall be broken without remedy.
[00:02:28] These six things the Lord hates. Yes, seven are an abomination to him.
[00:02:36] A proud look, a lying tongue, hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that are swift in running to evil,
[00:02:48] a false witness who speaks lies, and one who sows discord among brethren.
[00:02:55] My son, keep your father's command, and do not forsake the law of your mother.
[00:03:02] Bind them continually upon your heart. Tie them around your neck.
[00:03:09] When you roam, they will lead you. When you sleep, they will keep you.
[00:03:14] And when you awake, they will speak with you.
[00:03:18] For the commandment is a lamp, and the law a light.
[00:03:22] Reproofs of instruction are the way of life.
[00:03:26] To keep you from the evil woman, from the flattering tongue of a seductress.
[00:03:32] Do not lust after her beauty in your heart, nor let her allure you with her eyelids.
[00:03:40] For by means of a harlot, a man is reduced to a crust of bread.
[00:03:46] And an adulteress will prey upon his precious life.
[00:03:51] Can a man take fire to his bosom, and his clothes not be burned?
[00:03:56] Can one walk on hot coals, and his feet not be seared?
[00:04:01] So is he who goes in to his neighbor's wife.
[00:04:06] Whoever touches her shall not be innocent.
[00:04:10] People do not despise a thief.
[00:04:13] If he steals, to satisfy himself when he is starving.
[00:04:17] Yet, when he is found, he must restore sevenfold.
[00:04:23] He may have to give up all the substance of his house.
[00:04:26] Whoever commits adultery with a woman lacks understanding.
[00:04:32] He who does so destroys his own soul.
[00:04:37] Wounds and dishonor he will get, and his reproach will not be wiped away.
[00:04:42] For jealousy is a husband's fury.
[00:04:46] Therefore, he will not spare in the day of vengeance.
[00:04:50] He will accept no recompense, nor will he be appeased, though you give many gifts.
[00:04:59] Friends, today I would like to key in on the second part of verse 26, as well as verses 27, 28, and 29.
[00:05:11] And since that is a little bit lengthy, I will wait until the end of this podcast to go back and look at these particular verses.
[00:05:22] But what I'd like to do on today's podcast is to finish my study on the Ten Commandments.
[00:05:30] Now, I have been through the other nine commandments.
[00:05:33] I began this study between two and a half and three months ago.
[00:05:38] It's been a while, and we are going to be looking at the Tenth Commandment today.
[00:05:44] So what I'd like to do prior to starting is to go back and review each of the Ten Commandments.
[00:05:53] I know there are people listening today that probably have not listened to the previous podcasts on this study.
[00:06:02] And even if you have, it's good to review the Ten Commandments.
[00:06:07] So let's begin in the book of Exodus.
[00:06:11] We are in chapter 20, and the Ten Commandments begin with verse 2.
[00:06:18] I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
[00:06:26] So the first commandment is found in verse 3.
[00:06:31] You shall have no other gods before me.
[00:06:35] The second commandment begins in verse 4.
[00:06:39] You shall not make for yourself a carved image, any likeness of anything that is in heaven above,
[00:06:46] or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.
[00:06:52] You shall not bow down to them, nor serve them.
[00:06:56] For I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children
[00:07:04] to the third and fourth generations of those who hate me,
[00:07:10] but showing mercy to thousands, to those who love me and keep my commandments.
[00:07:17] The third commandment is in verse 7.
[00:07:20] You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain,
[00:07:25] for the Lord will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.
[00:07:31] The fourth commandment begins in verse 8.
[00:07:35] Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.
[00:07:39] Six days you shall labor and do all your work,
[00:07:43] but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God.
[00:07:47] In it you shall do no work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter,
[00:07:53] nor your male servant, nor your female servant,
[00:07:57] nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates.
[00:08:02] For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth,
[00:08:06] the sea and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day.
[00:08:11] Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.
[00:08:18] The fifth commandment is found in verse 12.
[00:08:21] Honor your father and your mother,
[00:08:24] that your days may be long upon the land which the Lord your God is giving you.
[00:08:30] Now friends, ever since we began this study,
[00:08:34] I have mentioned on several occasions that if you follow the first five commandments,
[00:08:43] there is in the Bible a verse that says,
[00:08:46] you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and mind and soul and strength.
[00:08:52] And the second commandment is like unto it,
[00:08:55] you shall love your neighbor as yourself.
[00:08:57] Friends, if you love God,
[00:08:59] and if you love your neighbor,
[00:09:02] then you will not do any of the last five commandments.
[00:09:08] So let's look at commandment number six.
[00:09:12] That is found in verse 13.
[00:09:14] You shall not murder.
[00:09:16] Verse 14 is the seventh commandment.
[00:09:19] You shall not commit adultery.
[00:09:22] The eighth commandment is found in verse 15.
[00:09:25] You shall not steal.
[00:09:27] Verse 16 is the ninth commandment.
[00:09:30] You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.
[00:09:34] And today's lesson is on the tenth commandment,
[00:09:39] found in verse 17.
[00:09:41] You shall not covet your neighbor's house.
[00:09:44] You shall not covet your neighbor's wife,
[00:09:47] nor his male servant,
[00:09:50] nor his female servant,
[00:09:52] nor his ox,
[00:09:54] nor his donkey,
[00:09:55] nor anything that is your neighbor's.
[00:09:58] Now, friends,
[00:10:00] my first point of the day today
[00:10:02] is the actual tenth commandment,
[00:10:05] and that is,
[00:10:07] you shall not covet.
[00:10:10] Now, friends,
[00:10:11] this is a big issue for many people today.
[00:10:15] If you have a neighbor
[00:10:17] that lives in a bigger house than you,
[00:10:20] many times people are envious of their neighbor
[00:10:27] because they have a bigger house.
[00:10:29] They may have a better job.
[00:10:31] They may have a prettier wife.
[00:10:34] Friends, it's so easy to fall into this trap.
[00:10:38] What I'd like to do now
[00:10:40] is to go to a very good example in the Bible.
[00:10:45] And what happens in this story
[00:10:48] is there are two wives,
[00:10:50] and one is able to have children,
[00:10:53] and the other is not able to have children.
[00:10:57] And this story is found
[00:10:59] in the book of 1 Samuel,
[00:11:02] beginning in verse 1.
[00:11:04] So what I'm going to do
[00:11:06] is actually read the entire first chapter,
[00:11:09] and I'm going to read
[00:11:11] about half of the second chapter.
[00:11:13] So it's a little bit lengthy,
[00:11:15] so just hold on,
[00:11:17] enjoy the story.
[00:11:18] I think you'll like it.
[00:11:20] Now, there was a certain man
[00:11:22] of Ramatham Zophim
[00:11:24] of the mountains of Ephraim,
[00:11:27] and his name was Elkanah,
[00:11:30] the son of Jeraham,
[00:11:32] the son of Elihu,
[00:11:34] the son of Tohu,
[00:11:36] the son of Zoph,
[00:11:37] and Ephraimite.
[00:11:38] And he had two wives.
[00:11:41] The name of one was Hannah,
[00:11:43] and the name of the other, Penina.
[00:11:46] Penina had children,
[00:11:49] but Hannah had no children.
[00:11:52] This man went up from his city yearly
[00:11:56] to worship and sacrifice
[00:11:58] to the Lord of hosts in Shiloh.
[00:12:01] Also, the two sons of Eli,
[00:12:06] Hophni and Phinehas,
[00:12:07] the priests of the Lord,
[00:12:09] were there.
[00:12:10] And whenever the time came
[00:12:12] for Elkanah to make an offering,
[00:12:15] he would give portions
[00:12:16] to Penina, his wife,
[00:12:18] and to all her sons and daughters.
[00:12:21] But to Hannah,
[00:12:23] he would give a double portion,
[00:12:25] for he loved Hannah,
[00:12:28] although the Lord
[00:12:29] had closed her womb.
[00:12:31] And her rival,
[00:12:33] and when we talk about her rival here,
[00:12:36] we are talking about
[00:12:38] the other wife
[00:12:40] of her husband.
[00:12:44] Also,
[00:12:45] provoked her severely
[00:12:46] to make her miserable,
[00:12:48] because the Lord
[00:12:49] had closed her womb.
[00:12:51] So imagine
[00:12:53] being one
[00:12:55] of two wives,
[00:12:57] and the husband
[00:12:58] has children
[00:13:00] with the one wife,
[00:13:01] but you are unable to.
[00:13:03] I want you to think about that.
[00:13:05] Now,
[00:13:06] we don't have
[00:13:07] two wives today,
[00:13:09] but back then
[00:13:10] it was very common.
[00:13:11] But she
[00:13:12] was making
[00:13:13] Hannah's life
[00:13:15] miserable.
[00:13:15] She would make fun of her,
[00:13:17] because
[00:13:18] she was unable
[00:13:20] to conceive.
[00:13:21] So it was,
[00:13:22] year by year,
[00:13:23] when she went up
[00:13:25] to the house of the Lord,
[00:13:26] that she provoked her,
[00:13:28] therefore
[00:13:29] she wept
[00:13:30] and did not eat.
[00:13:32] Verse 8,
[00:13:33] Then Elkanah,
[00:13:35] her husband,
[00:13:36] said to her,
[00:13:37] Hannah,
[00:13:37] why do you weep?
[00:13:39] Why do you not eat?
[00:13:41] And why
[00:13:42] is your heart grieved?
[00:13:43] Am I
[00:13:44] not better
[00:13:45] to you
[00:13:46] than ten sons?
[00:13:47] Hannah arose
[00:13:49] after they had finished
[00:13:51] eating and drinking
[00:13:52] in Shiloh.
[00:13:53] Now Eli the priest
[00:13:55] was sitting
[00:13:56] on the seat
[00:13:57] by the doorpost
[00:13:58] of the tabernacle
[00:14:00] of the Lord,
[00:14:00] and she was in bitterness
[00:14:02] of soul,
[00:14:03] and prayed
[00:14:04] to the Lord
[00:14:05] and wept
[00:14:07] in anguish.
[00:14:09] Then
[00:14:09] she made a vow
[00:14:11] and said,
[00:14:12] O
[00:14:12] Lord
[00:14:13] of hosts,
[00:14:15] if you will indeed
[00:14:16] look on the affliction
[00:14:18] of your maidservant
[00:14:19] and remember me
[00:14:21] and not forget
[00:14:23] your maidservant,
[00:14:24] but will give
[00:14:25] your maidservant
[00:14:27] a male child,
[00:14:28] then I
[00:14:29] will give him
[00:14:30] to the Lord
[00:14:31] all the days
[00:14:33] of his life,
[00:14:33] and no razor
[00:14:35] shall come
[00:14:36] upon his head.
[00:14:37] And it happened,
[00:14:39] as she continued
[00:14:40] praying before the Lord,
[00:14:42] that Eli
[00:14:43] watched her mouth.
[00:14:44] Now Hannah
[00:14:45] spoke in her heart,
[00:14:48] only her lips
[00:14:49] moved,
[00:14:50] but her voice
[00:14:51] was not heard.
[00:14:52] Therefore
[00:14:53] Eli the priest
[00:14:55] thought
[00:14:56] she was drunk.
[00:14:57] So Eli
[00:14:58] said to her,
[00:14:59] How long
[00:15:00] will you be drunk?
[00:15:01] Put your wine
[00:15:02] away from you.
[00:15:04] But Hannah
[00:15:05] answered and said,
[00:15:06] No,
[00:15:06] my Lord,
[00:15:07] I am a woman
[00:15:08] of sorrowful spirit.
[00:15:10] I have drunk
[00:15:11] neither wine
[00:15:13] nor intoxicating drink,
[00:15:15] but have poured out
[00:15:16] my soul
[00:15:17] before the Lord.
[00:15:18] Do not consider
[00:15:20] your maidservant
[00:15:21] a wicked woman,
[00:15:22] for out of the abundance
[00:15:24] of my complaint
[00:15:26] and grief
[00:15:26] I have spoken
[00:15:28] until now.
[00:15:29] Then Eli
[00:15:30] answered and said,
[00:15:31] Go in peace,
[00:15:33] and the God
[00:15:34] of Israel
[00:15:35] grant
[00:15:36] your petition
[00:15:37] which you have asked
[00:15:39] of him.
[00:15:40] And she said,
[00:15:42] Let your maidservant
[00:15:43] find favor
[00:15:44] in your sight.
[00:15:45] So the woman
[00:15:46] went her way
[00:15:48] and ate,
[00:15:48] and her face
[00:15:50] was no longer
[00:15:51] sad.
[00:15:52] Then
[00:15:53] they rose
[00:15:54] early in the morning
[00:15:55] and worshipped
[00:15:56] before the Lord
[00:15:57] and returned
[00:15:58] and came to their house
[00:16:00] at Ramah.
[00:16:01] And Elkanah
[00:16:02] knew
[00:16:03] Hannah
[00:16:04] his wife
[00:16:05] and
[00:16:06] the Lord
[00:16:07] remembered her.
[00:16:08] Now friends,
[00:16:09] whenever you hear
[00:16:10] a husband
[00:16:11] knowing
[00:16:12] his wife,
[00:16:13] that means
[00:16:14] that they had
[00:16:15] sexual intercourse.
[00:16:17] So it came to pass
[00:16:19] in the process
[00:16:20] of time
[00:16:21] that Hannah
[00:16:22] conceived
[00:16:22] and bore
[00:16:23] a son
[00:16:24] and called
[00:16:25] his name
[00:16:26] Samuel
[00:16:26] saying,
[00:16:27] Because
[00:16:28] I have asked
[00:16:29] for him
[00:16:30] from
[00:16:31] the Lord.
[00:16:33] Now the man
[00:16:34] Elkanah
[00:16:34] and all
[00:16:35] his house
[00:16:36] went up
[00:16:36] to offer
[00:16:37] to the Lord
[00:16:38] the yearly
[00:16:38] sacrifice
[00:16:39] and his vow.
[00:16:40] But Hannah
[00:16:41] did not go up
[00:16:43] for she said
[00:16:44] to her husband,
[00:16:45] Not
[00:16:45] until a child
[00:16:46] is weaned.
[00:16:48] Then
[00:16:48] I will take him
[00:16:50] that he may appear
[00:16:51] before the Lord
[00:16:52] and remain
[00:16:53] there
[00:16:54] forever.
[00:16:56] Now I don't know
[00:16:57] if she had told
[00:16:58] her husband
[00:16:59] at that time
[00:17:01] or before then
[00:17:02] that
[00:17:02] that was her plan.
[00:17:04] I don't know
[00:17:04] that.
[00:17:05] So Elkanah
[00:17:07] her husband
[00:17:07] said to her,
[00:17:09] Do what seems
[00:17:10] best to you.
[00:17:11] Wait
[00:17:12] until you
[00:17:14] have weaned him.
[00:17:15] Only let the
[00:17:16] Lord establish
[00:17:17] his word.
[00:17:19] Then the woman
[00:17:19] stayed and
[00:17:20] nursed her son
[00:17:21] until she
[00:17:23] had weaned him.
[00:17:24] Now when she
[00:17:25] had weaned him
[00:17:26] she took him
[00:17:27] up with her
[00:17:28] with three bulls
[00:17:29] one ephah
[00:17:30] of flour
[00:17:31] and a skin
[00:17:32] of wine
[00:17:32] and brought
[00:17:33] him to the
[00:17:34] house of the
[00:17:35] Lord in Shiloh
[00:17:36] and the child
[00:17:37] was young.
[00:17:39] Then they
[00:17:39] slaughtered a bull
[00:17:40] and brought the
[00:17:41] child to Eli
[00:17:42] and she said,
[00:17:44] Oh my Lord
[00:17:44] as your soul
[00:17:46] lives my Lord
[00:17:47] I and the
[00:17:48] woman who
[00:17:49] stood by you
[00:17:50] here praying
[00:17:51] to the Lord
[00:17:52] for this child
[00:17:53] I prayed
[00:17:54] and the Lord
[00:17:55] has granted me
[00:17:57] my petition
[00:17:58] which I asked
[00:18:00] of him
[00:18:00] therefore I
[00:18:02] also have
[00:18:02] lent him
[00:18:03] to the Lord
[00:18:05] as long
[00:18:06] as he lives
[00:18:07] he shall be
[00:18:08] lent to the
[00:18:08] Lord
[00:18:09] so they
[00:18:10] worshipped
[00:18:10] the Lord
[00:18:11] there.
[00:18:12] So friends
[00:18:13] my second
[00:18:14] point of
[00:18:15] today's lesson
[00:18:15] and it's
[00:18:16] taken a while
[00:18:16] to get there
[00:18:17] is if
[00:18:18] you
[00:18:19] will give
[00:18:19] me a son
[00:18:20] I
[00:18:21] will give
[00:18:22] him
[00:18:22] to the
[00:18:23] Lord.
[00:18:24] Let's
[00:18:24] begin
[00:18:25] chapter 2
[00:18:26] Hannah's
[00:18:27] prayer
[00:18:28] and Hannah
[00:18:29] prayed
[00:18:29] and said
[00:18:31] my heart
[00:18:32] rejoices
[00:18:33] in the
[00:18:34] Lord
[00:18:34] my horn
[00:18:35] is exalted
[00:18:36] in the
[00:18:37] Lord
[00:18:37] I smile
[00:18:38] at my
[00:18:39] enemies
[00:18:39] because I
[00:18:40] rejoice
[00:18:41] in your
[00:18:41] salvation
[00:18:42] no one
[00:18:43] is holy
[00:18:44] like the
[00:18:45] Lord
[00:18:45] for there
[00:18:46] is none
[00:18:47] besides
[00:18:48] you
[00:18:48] nor
[00:18:49] is there
[00:18:50] any rock
[00:18:50] like our
[00:18:51] God
[00:18:51] talk
[00:18:52] no more
[00:18:53] so very
[00:18:54] proudly
[00:18:54] let no
[00:18:56] arrogance
[00:18:56] come
[00:18:57] from your
[00:18:58] mouth
[00:18:58] for the
[00:18:59] Lord
[00:18:59] is the
[00:19:00] God
[00:19:00] of
[00:19:00] knowledge
[00:19:01] and by
[00:19:01] him
[00:19:02] actions
[00:19:03] are
[00:19:03] weighed
[00:19:04] the
[00:19:05] bows
[00:19:05] of the
[00:19:06] mighty
[00:19:06] men
[00:19:07] are
[00:19:07] broken
[00:19:08] and
[00:19:08] those
[00:19:09] who
[00:19:09] stumbled
[00:19:09] are
[00:19:10] girded
[00:19:10] with
[00:19:10] strength
[00:19:11] those
[00:19:12] who
[00:19:12] were
[00:19:12] full
[00:19:12] have
[00:19:13] hired
[00:19:13] themselves
[00:19:14] out
[00:19:15] for
[00:19:15] bread
[00:19:16] and
[00:19:16] the
[00:19:16] hungry
[00:19:17] have
[00:19:17] ceased
[00:19:18] to
[00:19:18] hunger
[00:19:19] even
[00:19:20] the
[00:19:20] barren
[00:19:20] has
[00:19:21] born
[00:19:21] seven
[00:19:22] and
[00:19:22] she
[00:19:23] who
[00:19:23] has
[00:19:23] many
[00:19:23] children
[00:19:24] has
[00:19:24] become
[00:19:25] feeble
[00:19:26] the
[00:19:27] Lord
[00:19:27] kills
[00:19:28] and
[00:19:29] makes
[00:19:29] alive
[00:19:29] he
[00:19:30] brings
[00:19:30] down
[00:19:31] to
[00:19:31] the
[00:19:31] grave
[00:19:31] and
[00:19:32] brings
[00:19:32] up
[00:19:32] the
[00:19:33] Lord
[00:19:33] makes
[00:19:34] poor
[00:19:34] and
[00:19:34] makes
[00:19:35] rich
[00:19:35] he
[00:19:36] brings
[00:19:36] low
[00:19:36] and
[00:19:37] lifts
[00:19:37] up
[00:19:37] he
[00:19:38] raises
[00:19:38] the
[00:19:39] poor
[00:19:39] from
[00:19:39] the
[00:19:39] dust
[00:19:40] and
[00:19:40] lifts
[00:19:40] the
[00:19:41] beggar
[00:19:41] from
[00:19:42] the
[00:19:42] ash
[00:19:43] heap
[00:19:43] to
[00:19:44] set
[00:19:44] them
[00:19:45] among
[00:19:46] princes
[00:19:46] and
[00:19:47] make
[00:19:47] them
[00:19:48] inherit
[00:19:49] the
[00:19:49] throne
[00:19:50] of
[00:19:50] glory
[00:19:51] for
[00:19:51] the
[00:19:52] pillars
[00:19:52] of the
[00:19:52] earth
[00:19:53] are
[00:19:53] the
[00:19:53] Lord's
[00:19:54] and
[00:19:54] he
[00:19:55] has
[00:19:55] set
[00:19:55] the
[00:19:56] world
[00:19:56] upon
[00:19:57] them
[00:19:57] he
[00:19:58] will
[00:19:58] guard
[00:19:59] the
[00:19:59] feet
[00:19:59] of
[00:20:00] his
[00:20:00] saints
[00:20:00] but
[00:20:01] the
[00:20:01] wicked
[00:20:01] shall
[00:20:02] be
[00:20:02] silent
[00:20:03] in
[00:20:03] darkness
[00:20:04] for
[00:20:04] by
[00:20:05] strength
[00:20:05] no
[00:20:06] man
[00:20:07] shall
[00:20:07] prevail
[00:20:08] the
[00:20:09] adversaries
[00:20:09] of the
[00:20:10] Lord
[00:20:10] shall
[00:20:10] be
[00:20:11] broken
[00:20:11] in
[00:20:11] pieces
[00:20:12] from
[00:20:12] heaven
[00:20:13] he
[00:20:13] will
[00:20:14] thunder
[00:20:14] against
[00:20:15] them
[00:20:15] the
[00:20:16] Lord
[00:20:16] will
[00:20:16] judge
[00:20:17] the
[00:20:17] ends
[00:20:18] of
[00:20:18] the
[00:20:18] earth
[00:20:18] he
[00:20:19] will
[00:20:20] give
[00:20:20] strength
[00:20:21] to
[00:20:21] his
[00:20:21] king
[00:20:22] and
[00:20:22] exalt
[00:20:23] the
[00:20:23] horn
[00:20:24] of
[00:20:25] his
[00:20:25] anointed
[00:20:26] then
[00:20:27] Elkanah
[00:20:28] went to
[00:20:28] his house
[00:20:29] and
[00:20:29] Ramah
[00:20:29] but
[00:20:30] the
[00:20:30] child
[00:20:31] ministered
[00:20:32] to
[00:20:32] the
[00:20:32] Lord
[00:20:33] before
[00:20:34] Eli
[00:20:34] the
[00:20:35] priest
[00:20:35] friends
[00:20:37] Hannah
[00:20:38] had
[00:20:39] her
[00:20:39] prayer
[00:20:40] answered
[00:20:40] and
[00:20:42] she
[00:20:43] was
[00:20:43] able
[00:20:48] to
[00:20:49] have
[00:20:49] children
[00:20:49] and
[00:20:50] Hannah
[00:20:51] was
[00:20:51] not
[00:20:51] God
[00:20:52] answered
[00:20:54] her
[00:20:54] prayer
[00:20:55] friends
[00:20:57] before we
[00:20:57] close
[00:20:58] today
[00:20:58] I'd like
[00:20:59] to go
[00:20:59] back
[00:20:59] to
[00:21:00] our
[00:21:00] seventh
[00:21:01] proverb
[00:21:02] and look
[00:21:03] over
[00:21:03] verses
[00:21:04] 26
[00:21:05] through
[00:21:05] 29
[00:21:06] and it
[00:21:07] says
[00:21:08] and
[00:21:08] an
[00:21:09] adulteress
[00:21:10] will
[00:21:10] prey
[00:21:11] upon
[00:21:11] his
[00:21:12] precious
[00:21:12] life
[00:21:13] can
[00:21:13] a
[00:21:14] man
[00:21:14] take
[00:21:15] fire
[00:21:15] to
[00:21:15] his
[00:21:16] bosom
[00:21:16] and
[00:21:17] his
[00:21:17] clothes
[00:21:17] not
[00:21:18] be
[00:21:18] burned
[00:21:18] can
[00:21:19] one
[00:21:19] walk
[00:21:20] on
[00:21:20] hot
[00:21:20] coals
[00:21:21] and
[00:21:21] his
[00:21:21] feet
[00:21:21] not
[00:21:22] be
[00:21:22] seared
[00:21:22] so
[00:21:23] is
[00:21:24] he
[00:21:24] who
[00:21:25] goes
[00:21:25] in
[00:21:26] to
[00:21:26] his
[00:21:26] neighbor's
[00:21:27] wife
[00:21:27] whoever
[00:21:28] touches
[00:21:29] her
[00:21:29] shall
[00:21:30] not
[00:21:31] be
[00:21:31] innocent
[00:21:32] friends
[00:21:33] I
[00:21:33] selected
[00:21:34] these
[00:21:35] verses
[00:21:35] today
[00:21:36] because
[00:21:36] if
[00:21:37] you
[00:21:37] are
[00:21:38] in
[00:21:38] an
[00:21:39] adulterous
[00:21:40] relationship
[00:21:41] it's
[00:21:42] because
[00:21:42] you
[00:21:43] began
[00:21:44] by
[00:21:44] coveting
[00:21:45] the
[00:21:46] spouse
[00:21:47] of
[00:21:48] another
[00:21:48] person
[00:21:49] this
[00:21:50] tells
[00:21:51] you
[00:21:52] what
[00:21:53] happens
[00:21:53] if
[00:21:54] you
[00:21:55] do
[00:21:55] this
[00:21:55] it
[00:21:55] says
[00:21:56] whoever
[00:21:56] touches
[00:21:57] her
[00:21:57] shall
[00:21:58] not
[00:21:59] be
[00:21:59] innocent
[00:22:00] friends
[00:22:01] as we
[00:22:02] close
[00:22:02] this
[00:22:03] study
[00:22:03] on
[00:22:04] the
[00:22:04] Ten
[00:22:05] Commandments
[00:22:05] I'm
[00:22:06] going
[00:22:06] to
[00:22:06] make
[00:22:07] a
[00:22:07] little
[00:22:07] comment
[00:22:09] friends
[00:22:09] we
[00:22:10] need
[00:22:10] to
[00:22:10] be
[00:22:10] reminded
[00:22:11] from
[00:22:12] time
[00:22:12] to
[00:22:12] time
[00:22:12] of
[00:22:13] the
[00:22:14] Ten
[00:22:14] Commandments
[00:22:14] if
[00:22:15] you
[00:22:16] have
[00:22:16] enjoyed
[00:22:16] this
[00:22:17] study
[00:22:17] or
[00:22:18] if
[00:22:18] today
[00:22:19] is
[00:22:19] the
[00:22:19] first
[00:22:19] one
[00:22:20] you
[00:22:20] have
[00:22:20] listened
[00:22:21] to
[00:22:21] may
[00:22:22] I
[00:22:22] invite
[00:22:22] you
[00:22:23] to
[00:22:23] go
[00:22:23] back
[00:22:24] look
[00:22:25] through
[00:22:25] the
[00:22:26] archives
[00:22:26] I
[00:22:31] so
[00:22:31] look
[00:22:31] at
[00:22:32] the
[00:22:32] Friday
[00:22:33] podcasts
[00:22:34] and
[00:22:34] those
[00:22:35] are
[00:22:35] the
[00:22:35] ones
[00:22:35] that
[00:22:36] end
[00:22:36] with
[00:22:36] either
[00:22:37] a
[00:22:37] five
[00:22:37] or
[00:22:38] a
[00:22:38] zero
[00:22:39] some
[00:22:40] of
[00:22:40] you
[00:22:40] may
[00:22:41] need
[00:22:42] to
[00:22:42] listen
[00:22:42] to
[00:22:43] a
[00:22:43] particular
[00:22:44] podcast
[00:22:45] several
[00:22:46] times
[00:22:47] and
[00:22:48] friends
[00:22:48] that
[00:22:49] is
[00:22:49] the
[00:22:49] way
[00:22:49] God
[00:22:50] works
[00:22:50] if
[00:22:51] you
[00:22:51] enjoy
[00:22:51] one
[00:22:52] of
[00:22:52] these
[00:22:53] podcasts
[00:22:53] and
[00:22:54] it
[00:23:01] over
[00:23:02] and
[00:23:03] over
[00:23:03] and
[00:23:04] over
[00:23:04] again
[00:23:04] that
[00:23:05] is
[00:23:06] how
[00:23:06] revelation
[00:23:07] of
[00:23:08] God's
[00:23:08] word
[00:23:09] happens
[00:23:09] to
[00:23:10] individuals
[00:23:10] I
[00:23:11] invite
[00:23:12] you
[00:23:12] to
[00:23:12] do
[00:23:12] this
[00:23:12] our
[00:23:13] time
[00:23:13] is
[00:23:14] up
[00:23:15] now
[00:23:16] may
[00:23:16] the
[00:23:17] Lord
[00:23:17] bless
[00:23:17] you
[00:23:18] and
[00:23:18] keep
[00:23:19] you
[00:23:19] the
[00:23:19] Lord
[00:23:20] make
[00:23:20] his
[00:23:20] face
[00:23:21] shine
[00:23:21] upon
[00:23:22] you
[00:23:22] and
[00:23:22] be
[00:23:23] gracious
[00:23:23] to
[00:23:23] you
[00:23:23] the
[00:23:24] Lord
[00:23:24] lift
[00:23:25] up
[00:23:25] his
[00:23:25] countenance
[00:23:26] upon
[00:23:26] you
[00:23:27] and
[00:23:27] give
[00:23:28] you
[00:23:28] peace
[00:23:29] friends
[00:23:29] this
[00:23:30] is
[00:23:31] the
[00:23:31] weekend
[00:23:31] take
[00:23:33] out
[00:23:33] your
[00:23:33] spouse
[00:23:34] take
[00:23:34] your
[00:23:35] kids
[00:23:35] along
[00:23:35] with
[00:23:36] you
[00:23:36] go
[00:23:37] out
[00:23:37] and
[00:23:37] have
[00:23:38] a
