Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 20. I will then key in on verse 5 - Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water, But a man of understanding will draw it out. Friends, we will take a closer look at this verse later in this podcast. Today we will continue our study on the Book of Job - looking at Chapter #15. After reading 23 verses of the chapter I will go over three points:
1. Eliphaz tells Job that his own mouth is condemning him - I will read the commentary in my Bible for verses 4-6.
2. Eliphaz tells Job to "get over himself." He is implying that Job is full of pride, and that he need to consider that he does NOT have all the answers. He is not the only one who has wisdom. He is simply a man, and God is God.
3. Eliphaz implies that Job is a wicked man. I will go over several commentaries in my Bible (the Nelson Study Bible) for this chapter.
Eliphaz was a man of understanding, and he had a deep felt love for Job. He pleads with Job to listen to what he has to say.
Call to Action: Take a good look at yourself. Are you a man of integrity? Do you try to justify yourself when you make mistakes?
