Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 24. I will then key in on verse 12 - If you say, "Surely we did not know this," Does not He who weighs the hearts consider it? He who keeps your soul, does He not know it? And will He not render to each man according to his deeds? Friends, this verse holds great meaning. This verse is not talking about consequences that happens to us while we are on Earth (say getting a speeding ticket), but this verse is talking about eternity. I will go over the commentary in my Bible (the Nelson Study Bible) for verse 12. It makes reference to Matthew's gospel, Chapter 5, verses 11 & 12 & the fact that if we claim to be Christians that many people will persecute and make fun of us. We need to be prepared for that. Then we go to the last chapter of the Bible, Revelation, Chapter 22, verse 12 and hear the words of Jesus. Jesus is the ultimate decider of our fate. Will we receive Him as our Lord and Savior, or will we choose to reject Him. I then go over Romans, Chapter 5, verse 18. This verse talks about Adam and how, because of his sin in the Garden of Eden, all of mankind began to have the nature of sin in them. But Jesus put an end to that. He came and gave us the choice to put aside our sin nature and begin to live righteous lives. Call to Action - Ask yourself this simple question - if you were to die this very day, do you know for certain where you will spend eternity - in Heaven with Jesus, or separated from Him in hell?
