Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 10. I will then key in on verse 12 - Hatred stirs up strife, But love covers all sins. Friends, I believe hatred is a really strong term. I believe that we can dislike something, but I think hate is a stronger emotion than we should be thinking. I like the second part of this verse - love covers all sins. That is pretty clear. If we love one another, we should be quick to overlook mistakes that people make. I believe if we can begin to do this, the world will become a much better place! Today, we will continue our study on the beloved disciple, John. If you did not have the opportunity to listen to Monday's podcast, I invite you to listen to that podcast prior to listening to this. Today we will be going over a passage of scripture from 1 John; a passage from 2nd John, and a passage from 3rd John. I will begin with 1 John, Chapter 3: verses 16-23. These verses tell us that we should learn to do the right things on a regular basis (to be righteous). The overall theme of this passage of scripture is that we should walk in love one with another. In 2 John (there is only one chapter in this short epistle) I will go over verses 4-6. This short passage tells us that we should follow the commandments of the Bible, but the main point is that we are to love our neighbor as ourself. I will close with 3rd John (another book with only one chapter). I will begin with verse 2 - and continue through verse 8. Verse 2 clarifies what God wants for each of us in this world (a number of people claim that they do not know the will of God). Verse 2 tells us that He wishes above all things that we prosper, and be in good health, even as our should prospers. Call to Action - In a personal prayer to God ask Him if there is anyone that you need to ask forgiveness for? Suggested scripture reading: 1. Read 1 John, Chapter 5; 2. Read 2nd John; 3. Read 3rd John
