Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 19. I will then key in on verse 8 - He who gets wisdom loves his own soul; He who keeps understanding will find good. Friends, God wants each and every one of us to have wisdom. If we have wisdom, we will care about our soul. If we have understanding we will open up scripture and we will find Jesus if we look for Him. Today we will continue our study on James - the half-brother of Jesus. Today we will look at Chapters 3 & 4. I believe Chapter 3 of the Book of James is one of the most important books of the Bible. This chapter emphasizes the importance of our words. Our words are so powerful. The unfortunate thing is sometimes they can be very destructive. I will go over verses 5-8 to highlight the power of the tongue. In verses 13-18 this chapter compares the two types of wisdom. Verses 13-16 talk about the bad kind of wisdom while verses 16-18 talk about the type of wisdom which we should be seeking. In Chapter #4 I will go over verses 6-10 which talks about how we are to act in our everyday lives. The Call to Action today is to take a close look in the mirror and ask yourself if there is anything going on in your life that God would not approve of. I then ask that you not keep any secrets anymore. I ask that you begin to open yourself to the possibility to be kind, gracious, and loving to every individual. The suggested scripture reading for today is: reread the proverb of the day, Proverb 19 in its entirety; Read chapters 3 & 4 of James in their entirety.
