Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 27. I will then key in on verse 19 - As in water face reflects face, So a man's heart reveals the man. Friends, think about how when you are in the mountains you can see the reflection of the mountains on a mountain pond. So, you can also see your reflection in a mirror. When you look closely at a person you can see their heart as well. As a man thinks in his heart, so is he (Proverb 23:7). Friends, we must be careful what we allow into our heart. What we see (and lay hold of) we will eventually allow into our heart. Be careful what you let your eyes look at. It really may affect what you allow into your heart. Today we will continue our study on the man Moses (I had begun this study on last Thursday's podcast - if you would like to check that out). We find out that Moses did make a mistake at Kadesh. The last time the Israelites had needed water, God miraculously provided for them. God had instructed Moses to strike the rock, and that water would come out. This time, God instructs Moses to speak to the rock (Numbers Chapter 20: 1-8). However, Moses disobeyed God this time, and struck the rock like he had last time. It ended up costing Moses big time. I will close our study on Moses by reading about his death in Chapter 34 of the Book of Deuteronomy : verses 1-8). CALL to ACTION: Ask God what it is that you personally have been called to do. Suggested scripture reading: 1. Reread the 34th chapter of Deuteronomy; 2. Reread the proverb of the day, Proverb 27 in its entirety; 3. Reread the 23rd psalm.
