Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 23. I will then key in on verse 12 (NLT) - Commit yourself to instruction; listen carefully to words of knowledge. As a teacher, I have always adhered to the thought that we should be lifelong learners. I believe that we should do all we can to continue to obtain knowledge - so we can grow in wisdom. I will then go over the commentary in my Bible for this verse. I will then continue our study on the topic of humility. I will introduce you to the man, Moses. In Numbers 12:verse 3 it tells us that Moses was the most humble man on the face of the Earth. That is an interesting verse - seeing that Moses was the author of this book (actually Moses was the author of the first five books of the Bible). I will then relate that Moses was born in Exodus (Chapter 2, verse 2) and inform the audience that by the time we get to verse 11 (of Chapter #2) that Moses is now 40 years old. By the time we get to verse 3, God has called Moses to be the agent to deliver the people of Israel out of Egypt into the Promise Land (by this time Moses is 80 years old). I will read the account of Moses meeting the Spirit of God (Jesus) inside a burning bush. CALL to ACTION - I ask that you each reflect and ask God if you are walking in the humility he wants you to walk in. SUGGESTED Scripture reading: 1.
