194. Moses takes Joseph's bones out of the Land of Egypt - December 29, 2022

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley.  Today we will be going over Proverb 29.  I will then key in on verse 17:  Correct your son, and he will give you rest; Yes, he will give delight to your should.  Friends, we are to be the primary teachers in the lives of our children.  Proverb 22:6 tells us that we are to train our children in the way they should go, and that when they grow up, they will not depart from what we've taught them.  When we send our children to school to be taught, that is good, but we are to be the ones that truly instruct them in the proper way that things should be done.  Today, we will continue our study on the book of Exodus.  Today we will go over Chapter 13 in this wonderful book.  1.  We will learn about the Feast of Unleavened Bread (I will read verses 3-10).  God wanted His children (the Israelites) to remember this special day - and to pass it on from generation to generation.  This is the event that took the Israelites out from under Egyptian bondage.  They should remember it for all time.  2.  We will then go over the Law of the Firstborn.  Instead of killing the firstborn (as the Death Angel had done to every single house of the Egyptians) God wanted the first born sons to be redeemed unto the service of the Lord.  3.  Moses takes the bones of Joseph out of the land of Egypt - keeping the promise from the Israelites that when the bondage finally ended and they would return to the Land of Promise that they would take his bones with them.  4.  God went before them by day and by night (with a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night).  God wanted His people to know that He was with them (and that He had delivered them from Egyptian bondage).  CALL to ACTION - continue to do a good deed for someone today (whether a neighbor, a friend, a co-worker, or a family member) - even if it is something as simple as opening a door for someone.  Suggested Scripture Reading - 1.  If you want to read one chapter today, let it be the 13th chapter of the book of Exodus (this is a wonderful chapter, and there are a number of verses I did not read); 2.  If you would like to read a second chapter, please continue your reading of the 11th chapter of the book of Hebrews (the great faith chapter) - if you get the faith that the more prominent people of the Bible inside of you, I believe your life will continue to get better; 3.  If you choose to read a third chapter today, please reread the 29th proverb in its entirety.  There are many good verses in this proverb, and I believe you will be blessed.
