Lessons From the Psalms - Psalm 109

Welcome to Lessons From the Psalms with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Psalm 109. Psalm 109 was written by King David, arguably the greatest king that Israel has ever known. As king, there would always be people who were against David (as there will always be people against us in our present world). As a result, in this psalm David goes to God in prayer and asks Him to judge those that are against him. After reading this psalm I will give three takeaways I get from this psalm:
1. I give myself to prayer (friends - whenever someone comes against you in life, the first thing we need to learn to do is go to God in prayer).
2. Because your mercy is good, deliver me (God is always merciful towards us. If you seek Him in prayer He will hear your prayer)
3. I will greatly praise the Lord with my mouth. (regardless of what is going on in your life, God is still to be praised.
Proverb 29-25 tells us that The fear of man brings a snare, But whoever trusts in the Lord shall be safe. Friends, do not be concerned with what man thinks - only be concerned with what the Lord thinks, and focus your attention on pleasing Him with all you do in life.
