Welcome to Lessons From the Psalms with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Psalms 108. Psalm 108 was written by King David of Israel. This psalm is mostly a compilation of Psalms 57 (verses 7-11) & Psalm 60 (verses 5-12) - both also written by King David. The title of Psalm 108 is Assurance of God's Victory over Enemies. In this psalm David is stating that he will give praise to go (both when he is alone, but also when he is front of many people). In verses 1-6 David is asking God for His help from his enemies. In verses 7-9 God actually responds to David. In verses 10 & 11 David responds back to God. By the end of this lesson there are three things I ask that you consider:
1. I will praise you, O Lord, among the peoples, And I will sin praises to You among the nations.
2. Give us help from trouble, for the help of man is useless (this verse tells us that we should be concerned with what God things of us - and not man).
3. Through God we will do valiantly, For it is He who shall tread down your enemies. (Friends, we need to pout our trust in God (and His son, Jesus). He will provide for us and protect us from our enemies.
