Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 12. I will then key in on verses 18 & 19 - There is one who speaks like the piercings of a sword, But the tongue of the wise promotes health. The truthful lip shall be established forever, But a lying tongue is but for a moment. Friends, these two verses once again speak to the importance of how important the words coming out of our mouth are. Proverb 18: verse 21 tells us that Death and life are in the power of the tongue. This is so clear. We need to speak words that will encourage people, build them up, give them confidence, etc. We are not to use demeaning words, words which will tear people down, etc. And, it's not only the words that we speak, but the manner in which we speak them that are also important. Today we will continue our study on Matthew's gospel. I will hold you responsible for much of this chapter. I will read verse 9-14 and discuss how important healing was to Jesus - and how opposed to healing the religious leaders of the day were. Since they did not have the ability to heal people, they were envious and furious that Jesus could do it - and the fact that He did it on the Sabbath did not sit well with them, either. I will then read verse 15. Verse 15 states that Jesus healed ALL who came to Him. Friends, we are still to walk in that healing as well. When Jesus died on that cross for each of us, He also provided for our healing. I will read verses 31 & 32 and talk about the unpardonable sin. I will then close by reading verses 46-50 & go over the simple fact that once we receive Jesus and make the decision to allow Him to come into our heart, we may need to leave our earthly family by the wayside. If they do not agree with you, and are not happy that you have made the decision that you have made, you may need to simply let them go. Call to action: Begin each day by praying this prayer, " Father God, put someone in my path today that I can be a witness to (to show the love of God and, if possible, share the good news with them).
