Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 20, I will then key in on verse 7 - The righteous man walks in his integrity, His children are blessed after him. Friends, in the dictionary, the word righteous is defined as acting in accord or moral law. It also says free from guilt or sin; morally right or justifiable. This can be narrowed down to simply doing the right things in life. If we do the right things in life, we will develop a reputation of doing so. Our children will be blessed if we develop a good reputation. In addition, they will tend to follow our behavior as well. On today's podcast I will close out our study of James - the half-brother of Jesus. Today we will explore two separate passages of the 5th chapter of the Book of James. I will read verses 7-12. These verses tell us that we should be patient in our lives (regardless of what is happening in our lives). Friends, temptations and hardships are a part of life, and we will have these on a regular basis in life. James is telling us that we should be patient through these times and that we should endure through them. If we do that, we will come out on the other side of these circumstances. I will then close out with verses 19-20. These verses tell us that if we see a fellow brother or sister in Christ and they are in error in their lives, that we should lovingly approach them and try to get them back on the correct path of life. Our manner in which we approach them can make all the difference. The Call to Action is to ponder how you might have acted during these times (when Jesus lived). Would you have been strong in the faith? Would you have survived the persecutions that often came upon Christians (or would you have renounced your faith?) Suggested scripture reading: 1. reread today's proverb, Proverb 20 in its entirety; 2. Reread the 5th Chapter of the Book of James.
