188. The plagues of the locusts and darkness - December 21, 2022

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley.  Today we will be going over Proverb 21.  I will then key in on verse 21:  To do righteousness and justice Is more acceptable to the Lord than sacrifice.  Friends, I am hoping by now that this is becoming a way of life for you.  I am hoping, that by listening to this podcast on a daily basis, that your life is beginning to be transformed.  I believe that doing right things over and over again will start to become automatic for you.  If you see a neighbor in need of help, go over and be willing a lend a hand.  People are usually open to that kind of stuff.  It is the right thing to do!  We will then continue in our study of the book of Exodus.  Today we will be going over Chapter #10.  Before I go over four points that we can glean from this chapter Moses and Aaron go into Pharaoh and once again ask that he let the people go out to make sacrifices to the Lord their God.  Of course, Pharaoh does not let that happen.  The four points that I would like for you to consider is:  Pharoah's servants actually confront Pharaoh and ask when he is going to allow the Israelites to go and worship their God?  They are fearful that their country is falling apart and that if something doesn't happen soon, it may actually be destroyed - (I will then read verse 7 of Chapter 10). 2.  The Plague of the Locusts -this is actually the most devastating of the plagues so far.  We will go over verses 12-15.  3.  Pharaoh actually repents to Moses and Aaron (we will read verses 16-19).  Pharaoh asks Moses to forgive him for sinning.  He asks Moses to intervene for the land of Egypt and to get rid of this plague - but as soon as the locusts are gone, Pharaoh hardens his heart yet again.  4.  The plague of Darkness - The darkness is so severe that, for three days, no one in the land of Egypt moves.  But, this chapter makes it clear that God does not make darkness appear in the land of Goshen (where the Israelite people are).  We will read verses 21-24 and then finally Pharaoh has enough and tells Moses that if he ever sees Pharaoh again he will die.  The climax has been reached.  Stay tuned!
