Welcome to Lessons From the Psalms with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Psalm 30. Psalm 30 was written by King David, a king that lived over 1,000 years prior to Jesus being born to us. King David is known as a man after God's own heart. In this psalm, David is praising God - because God has healed him from some sickness or illness that, at one point, David actually thought it might take his life. Now that he is back in good health, he is praising God for His goodness. After reading this psalm, I will go over each verse and testify that this psalm is still relevant for us today. A couple promises in this psalm are these:
1. His favor is for life
2. Weeping may endure for a night, But joy comes in the morning.
3. You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothes me with gladness
Friends, regardless of the season that you are presently going through in your life, this psalm is reassurance that God will bring you out of your present situation. Stand on the promises of God and there will come a day when you will begin a new chapter of your life and be able to declare the goodness of the Lord. The last verse should be our declaration -"O Lard my God, I will give thanks to Your forever.
