Lessons From the Psalms - Psalm 149

Welcome to Lessons From the Psalms with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Psalm 149. Psalm 149 is a psalm of praise, It is an anonymous psalm, but it is obvious that the author has a very close relationship with God. He exhorts us to give praise to God with dancing, and with instruments. This psalm also promises that if we obey His word that we will be working for Him and that we will end up helping God when judgement day comes. The three takeaways I would like for everyone to consider are these:
1. For the Lord takes pleasure in His people, He adorns the humble with salvation (Friends, God desires us to come to Him with humility. He delights in us and takes pleasure when we come to Him for any reason. Jesus is the reason for our salvation - all because of what He did on the cross for us).
2. Let the godly exult in glory; let them sing for joy on their beds. (whether we are on our beds, walking, running, riding a bike, or swimming - we should always be ready to give praise to God).
3.We should eagerly praise the Lord at all times. Friends, we should have an attitude of gratitude - for the joy of the Lord is our strength (Nehemiah 8:10)
