Lessons From the Psalms - Psalm 148

Welcome to Lessons From the Psalms with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Psalm 148. Psalm 148 is an anonymous psalm, but it is clear that the author has a very close relationship with his creator God. This psalm reminds us that God is the creator of all (things we can see, but also things that we can not see with our eyes) - the angels, the elements of our world such as wind, rain, lightning, etc.; the mountains, hills, the moon, sun, and stars, all the fish of the sea and larger sea creatures, all of the animals of the earth, the birds, the insects, and all of the people of the world. I have the following three takeaways from Psalm 148:
1. For He commanded and they were created (everything that we can see with our eyes (or cannot see because they are beyond our eyesight were created by the words of God).
2. Let all people praise the name of the Lord, for His name alone is exalted (everyone living on earth - regardless of the position on earth that they hold should praise and exalt the name of the Lord).
3. His majesty is above the earth and heaven (nothing that we could ever do in our lifetime can ever compare to the creative God of the universe).
