416. Job - Chapter #9 There is no Mediator November 6, 2023

Welcome to Wisdom Today with Bill Kelley. Today we will be going over Proverb 6. I will then key in on verse 12-15 - referring to the wicked man. As we go over these verses I want you to replace the "evil man" with satan himself. He certainly fits the bill for each of these verses. Friends, today, we will continue our study on the Book of Job. We will be looking at Chapter #9 today. I will read the entire chapter and go over three things I would like for you to consider:

1. There is no mediator (when God is concerned) - no God is God, and we are not. Job understood that. Job understood that no matter how blameless he was, he still not be compared with God. He simply understood the majesty of God, and who He was.

2. God is the creator of everything we can see with our eyes. I am amazed that Job, living when he did (nearly 3,500 years ago) understood that God had created even the constellations found in the sky. I ask myself how he knew that? The scriptures had yet to be written.

3. satan is the destroyer - this is the point where I will disagree with the Book of Job. Job did NOT know that satan existed. Job directly blamed God for what had happened to him. He did NOT blame the devil - because he did not know that he existed - but we do. We know that John wrote the gospel of John and that John 10:verse 10 says - but the thief (meaning satan himself) came but to steal, kill, and to destroy, but that I (meaning Jesus) came that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly (one translation says "to the full".

Call to Action - Ponder the immensity of God - the thought that he created the whole Earth, all of the animals, our human bodies, the galaxies and the Solar System.
